November 28, 2013

Tehran, (SANA) – Minister of Tourism, Bishr Yazigi, on Thursday stressed that the bilateral relations between Syria and Iran are solid, deeply-rooted and built on principles not interests, stressing the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism.

Yazigi clarified in a statement to SANA that his visit to Iran comes with the aim of participation in 'Treatment Tourism Conference' held in the city of Mashhad, as it also aims at broadening tourism relations between the two friendly countries.

"We would like to broaden this relation to include the treatment tourism, particularly that the two countries enjoy joint nature and civilization, particularly in light of the presence of specialized medical cadres," the Minister added.

He stressed the importance of rehabilitating the tourism sector in Syria and rebuilding what has been destroyed by the armed terrorist groups.

In a similar statement, Iran's Assistant Vice President for tourist affairs, Rahmani Muahed, expressed hope that religious tourism would turn back as it was in the near future, stressing that Syria will triumph over terrorism, and life and tourism will go back to normal.

Discussing means of mutual cooperation, Muahed said "We could set training courses for tourism administrators of both countries with the presence of distinguished specialists."

Muahed highlighted the importance that Iranian investors participate in the tourism sector in Syria to invest in the infrastructure in a way that consolidates friendly relations between the two countries.
