UN resolutions critical of Israel blocked

1) On November 15, 2010, U.S. President Barack Obama praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for urging his cabinet to accept a U.S. proposal to extend a freeze on West Bank settlement building for 90 days. Under the plan, Washington would block UN resolutions critical of Israel, and supply Israel with fighter jets worth $3 billion. The US government also promised Israel that after the 90-day moratorium, they would not seek an extension, and settlement construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem (all of which is illegal under international law) could continue unabated.

2) In February 2011, more than 100 nations voted for a U.N. resolution that would have condemned illegal Israeli settlements and halted any new construction. The United States vetoed it.

3) On February 19, 2011, Israel said it was deeply grateful to the United States after it vetoed a United Nations resolution put forward by the Palestinian leadership condemning Israeli settlement activity.

4) On  Oct 27, 2011, Israeli jetfighters engaged in aerial bombing of the Palestinian city of Khan Yunes in the Gaza Strip.

Latest News Syria: Palestinian refugees

At least 15 Palestinians have died of starvation since September in the Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus.

The continued presence of armed groups that entered the area at the end of 2012 has thwarted the humanitarian efforts.

Some 20,000 Palestinians are trapped in the town with limited access to food and medical supplies.

Nearly 500,000 Palestinian refugees live in Syria.

Israeli forces raid homes in West Bank

Israel-Palestine-arrest.jpg

Israeli forces have raided several Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank, arresting at least nine people.

December 27, 2013

On Thursday, Israeli forces raided the Um al-Sharayet neighborhood of al-Bireh in the West Bank city of Ramallah and arrested a Palestinian.

Elsewhere, Israeli regime forces raided several homes in the city of Bethlehem and arrested four Palestinians including two brothers aged 19 and 21. Two people, including a 55-year-old, were caught in the nearby village of Beit Fajjar.

A 22-year-old Palestinian was also arrested in the Qalandia refugee camp, near Ramallah.

In addition, Israeli troops raided the Ras al-Ain neighborhood in the West Bank city of Nablus and arrested two people after raiding their homes.

Two more Palestinians were arrested in the villages of Huwwara and Burqa, located to the south and north of Nablus respectively.

Reports say Israeli forces caused extensive damage to Palestinian properties during the attacks.

The Israeli military regularly attacks different areas in East al-Quds (Jerusalem) as well as the occupied West Bank to arrest Palestinian activists and civilians mostly without any charges.

On November 17, Israeli forces attacked the village of Abu Dis in East al-Quds (Jerusalem), injuring 40 people including university students.

On November 15, four Palestinian children, aged five to nine, were handcuffed and detained by Israeli forces for more than an hour. The Israeli soldiers arrested the children during a protest rally in Kafr Qaddum, a village in the north of the occupied West Bank.

According to Palestinian rights groups, over a dozen Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in the first half of 2013. Israeli troops also seized nearly 1,800 Palestinians, including women and children, during the same period.

Indian Muslim Leaders: ’Israel’ Should Stop Day-Dreaming Its Overlord Over Middle East

20.6.2013

‘Israel is the only remaining apartheid regime in the world, which is destined to disappear from the map of the world, sooner or later like the apartheid regime in South Africa”, said Indian Muslim leaders on Wednesday in New Delhi.

In a joint press statement, Indian Muslim leaders stated, “We condemn, most forcefully and unreservedly, the “Israeli” President’s suggestion to the Indian government to disregard the Indian Muslim community in developing and strengthening relations with the Zionist state.”

“First of all, this is an unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign and free state. Moreover, it is a blatant disregard of the democratic principles which take public opinion into consideration while formulating national and international policies,” said the statement.

It further mentioned that tiny but highly arrogant “Israel” should realize that it is committing a mockery of democratic principles by suggesting policies to a country which is 200 times its population.

Moreover, it asked “Israel” to give Palestinians their inalienable rights, return the occupied lands and stop its criminal siege of Gaza Strip and equally illegal settlements in the West Bank.

“Israel should stop day-dreaming that it can continue to overlord the Middle East thinking that it can forever rely on the blind American support. Middle East’s sand is shifting fast and even “Israel’s” American allies are now saying that a decade from now “Israel” may not exist,” the statement remarked.

The Muslim leaders further advised the “Israeli” President to ask the Jewish settlers in occupied Palestine to return to their original homelands while those remaining in Palestine will have to live as loyal citizens of a free and democratic Palestine.

“We also advise the “Israeli” President to stop thinking about India where a vast majority of people of all communities know the reality of “Israel” and how it was built by violence and deceit on stolen land with blind European and American support,” they stated.

It added that in India “we know that “Israel” is the only remaining apartheid regime in the world, which is destined to disappear from the map of the world sooner or later like the apartheid regime in South Africa.”

Festival supporting Palestine and Syria

Festival of Supporting Syria and Jerusalem Kicks off in Baghdad

May 12, 2013

Activities of the "Supporting Syria and Jerusalem" Festival kicked off on Saturday, organized by the Iraqi National Committee for Supporting Resistance and Iraqi Arab Popular Committee for Supporting Syria and the Resistance.

The Festival, which last until May 25, started with a symposium during which Security General of Iraqi National Founding Conference, Sheikh Jawad al-Khalisi delivered a speech in which he stressed the strong connection between the occupation of Palestine and the global conspiracy targeting Syria with its resistance approach.

Al-Khalisi noted that before Syria, Iraq, Libya and Egypt have already been targeted, stressing that this targeting aims to eliminate the most prominent sources of power for the liberation of Palestine "which are represented by the Arab armies that have the ability to achieve liberation."

Al-Khalisi added during the symposium, which was held at the university of al-Alm city in the presence of national and pan-Arab forces, that the crimes committed by the terrorist groups in Syria provide a great service to the Zionist entity to continue its occupation of the Palestinian territories, affirming that the way to free all Islamic sanctities comes through the unity of all Arab resistance movents.

Head of the Iraqi Popular Committee for Supporting Syria and Resistance, Abdul-rida al-Hamid said had the money which was spent on initiatives and conferences under the slogans of 'liberation' been put at the disposal of the Resistance, Palestine would have been liberated a long time ago.

"The only real compass for liberating Palestine is the compass of the resisting Syria," added al-Hami, pointing out that the only way to achieve this liberation is through the unity of the rifle of the Syrian Arab Army with that of the resistance in Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq.

Israeli aggression: Palestine

Image

The Israeli regime has approved the construction of 296 new illegal settler units in the so-called Beit El settlement in the occupied West Bank, despite international condemnation.

An Israeli official said on Thursday that Tel Aviv had given the green light for the settler units, but this was only the first stage of a process before actual construction could begin.

The official said the new units were part of a compensatory measure for those settlers who were evicted from the illegal Ulpana outpost – which has not been authorized by the Tel Aviv regime – following a court ruling.

Outposts are newer and smaller Israeli settlements and Israel considers those outposts that were built without authorization from the Tel Aviv regime to be illegal.

More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 illegal settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The Thursday announcement to build new settler units comes days after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered a freeze on tenders for new settler units.

The United Nations also called on the Tel Aviv regime on Wednesday to halt its settlement building.

The Israeli regime maintains a defiant stand on the issue of its illegal settlements on Palestinian land as it refuses to freeze settlement expansion. Tel Aviv has come under repeated and widespread international condemnation over the issue.

A war between Syria and Turkey is inevitable

Erdogan.petit.caniche.de.Hillary.Clinton.jpgISTANBUL, Oct. 9 2012 (Xinhua) - Turkey and Syria move closer than ever to the verge of war after Syria's latest mortar shelling killed five Turkish civilians.

The Turkey Parliament has authorized a war mandate last week, enabling further cross-border military action against Syria.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan talked about the war twice within a week, saying that Turkey was not far away from war and called on his people to be prepared.

Turkey and Syria have been exchanging cross-border artillery fire for almost a week. In this sense, Turkey has already started fighting.

U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said last Saturday that conflict between Turkey and Syria may escalate and spread to neighboring countries.

However, many Turkish analysts worry that it would be great mistake for Turkey to get involved in a war with Syria, which could bring serious consequences to this country.

"If Turkey starts war with Syria, it would be detrimental for both countries. Turkey's social stability, economic development and democratization process would all be badly affected," Aykan Erdemir, a Turkish MP from the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), told Xinhua.

U.S. tactical nuclear weapons in Turkey

Popey-missile.Israel.Turkey.jpg

Turkey is one of five European nations that continue to house U.S. tactical nuclear weapons allocated for NATO.

Some months ago, Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for Syrian terrorists and C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey. The weapons, including automatic rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, ammunition and some antitank weapons, are being funneled mostly across the Turkish border by way of a shadowy network of intermediaries including Syria’s Muslim Brotherhood and paid for by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The United States is setting up joint military, intelligence and 'medical' working teams with Israel, Turkey and Jordan.

On October 4, 2012, Adm. George Stavridis, the commander of US European Command (USEUCOM) and NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), met with Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel in Ankara. The meeting took place at General Staff headquarters but was only announced to the public in a statement released by the General Staff some days later. The talks were closed to the press and the statement did not elaborate on what Stavridis and Ozel discussed. It proved once again that the Turkish government is not only arming Syrian terrorists but organizes with its NATO allies (with Israel in the background) also a real war against Syria.

Palestine: Muslim world's priority

Palestine, Muslim world's priority: Iran Majlis Speaker

Sep 6, 2012 - Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani says Palestine and restoring the rights of the Palestinian people have always been a priority for the Muslim world.

“International supporters of the Zionist regime [of Israel] have always tried to marginalize the issue of Palestine, but Palestine and restoring the rights of the oppressed people of this country has always been a priority for the Muslim Ummah,” Larijani said in a meeting with the senior Hamas official Mahmoud al-Zahar on Thursday.

He further noted that resistance against occupiers of the Zionist regime is a deep-rooted movement in the Islamic world, adding, “The result of popular revolutions in the region is increased power of Islamic resistance in the world.”

Larijani stated that the role and position of Hamas as “the symbol of the Palestinian people’s resistance” should not be undermined.

Al-Zahar, for his part, stated that Hamas will never give up even an iota of the Palestinian soil and “struggle will continue until the complete liberation of all Palestinian territories.”

The senior Hamas official also expressed gratitude over the Islamic Republic’s support for the Palestinian people’s resistance movement, adding that “Iran’s role in supporting Palestinian people over the past years has been nonpareil and no one can deny the importance and important position of Iran in this regard.”
